Mukta Darera, started iReboot on an impulse. But soon found ways to turn it into a sustainable business model. A life orientation company, with a mission to help people discover themselves, and in turn, their career calling. A new hobby, new career, no matter at what age, she promises you can find it at iReboot. She shares her story behind this venture with JF.
JF: What was the inspiration behind this venture?
MD: When I was working, I noticed 80% of the people were cribbing about their jobs. They were not passionate about it. They all wished they were doing something else. iReboot emerged as an answer to Bangalore city’s unsatisfied working population who feel trapped and bored in their jobs. Today, these unfulfilling jobs carry all the usual trappings of success - title, money and perks. Financial responsibilities make it risky to trade security for personal fulfillment. Factors such as these conspire to keep people trudging along hoping things will get better. But clinging to security or trying to be a good corporate citizen can turn out to be a prison of your own making. This is where iReboot steps in.
At a zero opportunity cost, people can experience their dream job for a short duration and make a conscious decision about their careers.
JF: What was the biggest hurdle when you started off?
MD: Belief in the idea from others which is crucial when you start off.
JF: Where do you see yourself / your venture in 10 years?
MD: Across 5 cities in India, enabling people to lead happier lives!
JF: What will be you biggest challenge going forward?
MD: Scalability, because proficient mentors are few and can handle only a certain size in a batch.
JF: Who or what has been your biggest support?
MD: Family , especially dad who has supported my ideas and been a pillar of support. Friends - in who’s listening, I created iReboot
JF: What do you tell yourself when the going gets tough?
MD: Everyone has difficult times; I stay committed to my action plan. I tell myself persistence is the key to success.
JF: What would be your one piece of advice for aspiring entrepreneurs?
MD: Stay rooted to your belief. It is that leap of faith in yourself and your idea that will make you successful. Don't be bogged down by others opinions. Seek out mentors and seek the company of people who will add value. Enjoy the ride.
